Pre-Tinning Lead Wires

Recommended tips for Pre-Tinning Lead Wires

Pretinning Lead wire with Shape BC/C Pre-Tinning Lead Wire with Shape D

Pre-Tinning is the act of coating solder around a stranded electrical wire before actually soldering the wire. This protects the wire from oxidation as the solder forms a protective layer of coating. It makes it easier to connect the pre-tinned wires to connectors and ensures that they are all joined, forming an electrical connection.

Hakko recommends the use of shapes BC/C or D for the pre-tinning of lead wires.
