Why choose Hakko over standard soldering irons?

Standard soldering irons struggle with thermal recovery—dropping temperature when touching a joint. Hakko soldering irons feature high-mass ceramic heating elements that recover heat instantly, ensuring consistent, cold-joint-free results even on lead-free solder.

What is the difference between the Hakko FX-600 / FX-601 Soldering Iron and FX-888D / FX-888DX Soldering Station?

The Hakko FX-600 and FX-601 Soldering Iron is a beginner friendly, highly portable, self-contained iron with a temperature control dial built right into the handle. The FX-600 uses T18 tips for general soldering while FX-601 uses T19 tips with higher thermal capacity for soldering activities requiring higher power and heat (eg capacitors).

The Hakko FX-888DX Soldering Station (successor to FX-888D) is a dedicated 100-watt desktop soldering station featuring digital temperature locking, presets, easy temperature control up to 1℃ and a separate iron holder for safer, high-volume workbench assembly. With the FX-888DX, you have optional soldering handpieces available such as the FX-8802 Nitrogen Soldering Iron, FX-8804 SMD Hot Tweezer and the FX-8806 95W Soldering Iron for higher power soldering.
